February 2016: Zenith International opens office on Wall Street

Celebrating its 25th anniversary next month, specialist food and drink industry consultancy Zenith International has opened a new office at 40 Wall Street in New York.

“We already have many major US clients including Coca-Cola, PepsiCo and the US Dairy Export Council,” commented Zenith Chairman Richard Hall.  “Last year, we acquired the information, newsletter and conference business of Beverage Digest.  It has become essential for us to have a US office in order to support our growing client base there.”

Zenith’s head office is based in the UNESCO world heritage city of Bath in the United Kingdom.  With a permanent team of 50 staff, the company has another office in Dubai as well as associates across 70 countries.

Zenith already has a team of 3 staff in the United States and is looking to expand this.

“It’s an extra pleasure that our 28th floor office overlooks the entrance of the New York Stock Exchange,” Richard Hall concluded.

Beverage Digest August 2015: Zenith International acquires US based Beverage Digest

In August 2015, Zenith International acquired Beverage Digest, the influential news, data and conference company based in the US. Duane Stanford has been named editor. Mr. Stanford has deep expertise in the beverage business, having covered it for almost a decade with Bloomberg News and before that with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. 

Beverage Digest publishes one of the industry’s most influential newsletters covering the non-alcoholic beverage industry and holds two conferences a year - Future Smarts and Wall Street Smarts. 

Beverage Digest is also a leading provider of industry data, publishing several reference volumes including the comprehensive annual Fact Book. Its Coke System and Pepsi System map books profile the companies’ bottling systems in the US.

New staff appointments

Juliette de Nettancourt, Consultant

Juliette de Nettancourt, Consultant
Juliette joined our Commercial Department as a Consultant in May 2016.

Juliette has previous experience in digital media advertising as well as in the wealth management industry. She recently graduated from the University of Bath with an MSc in International Management and holds a Bachelor in Business and Marketing Management from Oxford Brookes University.

Juliette speaks fluent English and French.

Tara Heywood, Finance Administrator

Tara Heywood, Finance Administrator
Tara Heywood joined the Zenith team in April 2016 as Finance Administrator. Tara’s responsibilities include the processing of accounts for FoodBev Media Ltd.

Prior to joining Zenith, Tara worked as an accounts assistant in the construction industry, with responsibility for the daily accounts functioning. Tara has completed the Level 4 AAT qualification.


Monica Kvamme, Consultant

Monica Kvamme, Consultant
Monica Kvamme joined Zenith in March 2016 as a Consultant for the New York office. She is responsible for Commercial projects in North and South America.

Prior to joining Zenith, Monica spent almost a decade working in market and consumer research in North America, South America and Europe, for companies including Euromonitor International, Mintel Group and CEB Inc. Monica's previous experience also includes work in manufacturing operations and business intelligence for mergers and acquisitions.

Monica is a dual U.S. and Colombian citizen and holds a B.A. in International Studies and Anthropology from Macalester College.

Paul Martin, Principal Consultant

Paul Martin, Principal Consultant
Paul Martin joined Zenith as a Principal Consultant in November 2015. He heads up Zenith Springboard which focuses on advising start-up and SME food and drink businesses. Having been involved in two successful start-up companies, Paul has hands-on experience of starting and running a business. He is able to advise on all the key areas of food and drink businesses from product formulation to getting the product on shelf.

Paul is an experienced sales and marketing led senior executive and business consultant with over 30 years’ experience in the UK FMCG market.

Prior to consultancy, Paul was CEO of Harrogate Spring Water and was also Sales and Marketing Director of Macaw Soft Drinks.

Portia Rifat, Senior Market Analyst/Project Manager

Portia Rifat, Senior Market Analyst/Project Manager
Portia Rifat is a Senior Market Analyst/Project Manager with extensive experience in conducting market research in a wide variety of areas.  Her role at Zenith is to manage market research projects in the food and beverage markets and this includes market intelligence reports, global databases, news services and consultancy work.

Prior to joining Zenith in August 2015, Portia was a QuickMark Researcher for the University of the West of England (UWE, Bristol) where she produced and managed ad-hoc reports for both commercial and academic clients.  This involved generating research proposals, conducting secondary research, writing the final report and liaising with clients.  Previously, Portia worked as a Freelance Researcher for AMA Research where she wrote off-the-shelf market research reports that included conducting primary research, interviewing senior management, analysing quantitative and qualitative data and producing market forecasts on market size.

Portia holds a BSc in Food, Textiles and Consumer Studies from London South Bank University and a MSc in Marketing and Product Management from Cranfield University.

Louisa Sabin, Market Analyst

Louisa Sabin, Market Analyst
Louisa Sabin joined Zenith International in the summer of 2015, as a Market Analyst - specialising in the dairy sector.

She is responsible for conducting market and industry research to obtain insight into sector growth, key players, market dynamics, consumer behaviour and trends.

Prior to joining Zenith, Louisa was a market researcher at Datamonitor Consumer. She authored different publications on dairy and covering the latest product developments in FMCG.

Louisa is fluent in French, English and Spanish and holds a Master’s degree in International Business and Trade.

Nouf Jeynes, Market Analyst

Nouf Jeynes, Market Analyst
Nouf Jeynes has joined Zenith’s Market Intelligence team as a Market Analyst. Nouf has extensive experience in eating behaviour research from working on a project funded by the food industry.

Prior to joining Zenith International in 2015, Nouf was working as a research collaborator between the University of Bristol and British Sugar UK investigating the satiety effects of sugar-containing drinks. In addition to this, she also worked as a part-time lab demonstrator.

She holds a Ph.D. from University of Bristol, MMedSci from Sheffield University and BSc in health science from King Saud University, Saudi Arabia. Nouf is fluent in English and Arabic.
