44 acquisitions in February
No shortage of deal activity again in February.
44 transactions are recorded on the bevblog.net acquisitions database, which can be accessed by clicking on the right of this page. There were two big ones – a $2.7 billion Pringles sale which, in the end, went to Kellogg and a $1.15 billion offer by Carlsberg for the remaining 15% of Baltika in Russia.
10 were in soft drinks, 8 in packaging and equipment, 6 in ingredients and 4 in alcohol. The rest included bakery, biscuits, coffee, confectionery, dairy, food, meat, nutrition, snacks and tea.
20 were within individual countries, 10 of those in the United States. 24 were across borders, another 11 involving the United States. The other most active countries were the United Kingdom on 7, followed by Australia, Canada, France and Switzerland on 3 each.
Overall, 29 countries were affected.
