55 acquisitions in December
December was a hectic month for food and drink industry transactions, with 55 recorded in the bevblog.net mergers and acquisitions database.
Two were valued at more than $10,000 million.
• $130,000 million for the ingredients merger of Dow Chemical and DuPont to become DowDuPont.
• $13,900 million for JAB and others to buy the US based Keurig Green Mountain coffee business.
Of the 55 total, 15 were in alcohol, 8 in dairy, 7 in soft drinks and 7 in ingredients.
29 countries featured, led by the United States with involvement in 26 deals. The United Kingdom followed on 12, then Belgium on 7, Brazil and France on 5, Germany on 4 and Israel on 3.
