Encouraging signs on recycling

Two reports towards the end of 2015 reinforced evidence of progress on recycling.

• European carton recycling reached 43%, according to ACE, with four countries achieving rates of 70% or more – Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg and Spain.

• 99% of UK local authorities now offer kerbside collection services for plastic bottles, leaving just 6 that do not, according to RECOUP.

• 57% of plastic bottles used by UK households are collected for recycling.

I wonder if I should shift my position from being positively critical to critically positive.
