If you haven’t already seen it, do take a look at the Financial Times full page story about sugar on 25th April.

It contains some choice quotes as well as startling figures. Among them:

“The number of obese people worldwide has climbed … to 500 million.”

“The related global healthcare costs are … $500 billion or over 10% of global healthcare spending …”

“Health officials now apply the term malnutrition to the obese as well as the overly thin.”
