News to note from France
The first ever soap-style pump dispense system for fruit concentrates has been introduced by French brand leader Teisseire to help ensure more consistent drink strength and overcome parental concerns about potential waste by children over-pouring.
Fruit nectars containing 25-99% juice have suffered most from the recent soda tax. Sales fell 28% from 400 million litres in 2012 to 287 million litres in 2013. It has been predicted that some nectar flavours could disappear altogether.
France’s first drive-through grocery collection point on a motorway has been opened by the Leclerc supermarket group in a services area near Cannes. It is aimed at holiday makers as well as commuters.
