With such a media spotlight on sustainability, Zenith’s 2018 UK Bottled Water Conference on 15 March in London will open with a breakfast briefing on finding more sustainable packaging solutions. The session features Coca Cola, compliance experts Ecosurety and environment charity Hubbub, with moderation by the Packaging Collective.

Taking up the challenge of “Inspiring consumers to value packaging and encourage recycling while on the go”, the session will bring together industry members to discuss consumer concerns, focus on areas of opportunity and create a positive way forward for brand owners, suppliers and retailers.

The briefing will review the latest recycling initiatives, including reverse vending and deposit schemes, as well as offering case studies illustrating the importance of producer responsibility in building consumer awareness on effective packaging waste management.

Under the theme Thirst: New priorities for bottled water, the rest of the conference will look beyond the market today at accelerating the prospects of a brighter tomorrow. Delegates will hear from established companies as well as innovators on: market, consumer and retail trends; how aqua plus drinks are evolving; the latest in innovation; and other social and environmental challenges facing the industry.

The conference also offers any brand company the opportunity to showcase its bottled water drinks FREE of charge at the newly introduced ‘Chiller Corner’, which provides allocated shelf space in display fridges for all attendees to access and sample. Companies will gain valuable and constructive feedback first hand from industry experts and peers.

Highlights include:

  • Breakfast briefing on plastic recycling with Coca Cola, Ecosurety, Hubbub, OPRL, RECOUP and Packaging Collective
  • Market overview from Bridgethorne, Kantar and Zenith.
  • Future market perspectives involving Niagara, Red Star and Nestlé Waters UK.
  • CSR challenges and opportunities with Association of Convenience Stores, British Retail Consortium, Coca ColaCo-op, Recoup and Tetra Pak
  • New brand ideas with contributions from Nichols and Ugly Drinks.
  • Entrepreneur shoot out including Vievé, Dash Water and Just Water.
  • The audience will be drawn from senior industry managers, buyers, suppliers, retailers, advisers and the trade press.
