Richard Hall, Chairman or Zenith Global Ltd 

Richard Hall is an acknowledged expert on the international food and drinks sector, chairing and speaking at numerous industry conferences as well as offering independent comment on In April 2018, he served as an expert witness in one of the largest court cases in US corporate tax history.

With a degree in Economics and Government from the University of Bath, where he was also Students’ Union President, he worked in the Group Commercial Department of UK dairy market leader Unigate before joining the Dairy Trade Federation as Economic Adviser.

in five years as a Director of the Dairy Trade Federation, he also served as its Head of Public Relations and as Secretary General of the European Federation of Dairy Retailers. From 1987 to 1990 he was Director and General Manager of beverage market consultancy Canadean.

He formed Zenith in 1991 as a specialist business consultancy for the food and drink industries. The company now has 40 staff working for more than 1,000 clients in over 50 countries. It provides a full range of consulting and market information services. In 2015, Zenith acquired the Beverage Digest business in the United States.

He also chairs FoodBev Media, which he founded in 2000. Its team of 15 staff publishes two business journals and manages the website.

Richard has undertaken many consultancy projects over the past 25 years as well as helping form several industry organisations, including the foundation and chairmanship of the Natural Hydration Council. In 2010 he was Series Consultant for the BBC Money Programme series on The Foods That Make Billions.

In 2013 he completed six years as Chairman of the Bath & North East Somerset Quartet Community Foundation, after two years as Chairman of the Bath City of Festivals Steering Group and two previous years as President of Bath Chamber of Commerce. He is currently a Director of Bath Philharmonia and a Governor of Royal High School Bath.

Anne Wong - Erven, Insight and Advisory Director at Zenith Global Ltd

Anne Wong-Erven is Zenith’s Insight & Advisory Director. She is responsible for leading the Insights and Advisory team. She has experience undertaking market opportunity assessments, route-to-market strategy and channel distribution analysis, new product development and mergers & acquisitions studies.

Anne has undertaken in-depth commercial feasibility studies in North America, Europe and Africa.

Prior to joining Zenith in January 2015, Anne has over ten years of experience within the Canadian and UK food and drink industry in supply chain and strategic purchasing, and account management roles.

Erica Perrier, Hydration and Metabolic Health Group Manager at Danone Research

Dr. Erica Perrier leads the Hydration Physiology and Metabolic Health research group at Danone Nutricia Research, driving evidence-based research programs linking water intake and hydration biomarkers to mechanisms and potential health consequences of water balance regulation. A recognized expert on hydration, she has authored over fifty peer-reviewed articles and abstracts in the fields of hydration assessment and exercise nutrition and performance. Prior to joining Danone, Erica held several adjunct faculty positions, developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate-level courses at multiple American universities spanning the areas of exercise science and prescription, cardiovascular physiology, health and nutrition, and sports performance enhancement.  She holds degrees from Oregon State and Duke University.

Erik Lindroth, Sustainability Director Europe & Central Asia at Tetra Pak

Erik Lindroth is Tetra Pak’s Sustainability Director in Europe and Central Asia, focused on engaging customers in leveraging sustainability opportunities in the market. He has previously worked with the environment in Tetra Pak both on a regional and global level since 2008. Erik has a marketing and commercial background, as Marketing Director and Commercial Director for one of Tetra Pak’s product systems as well as an MSc in Economics and Business Administration from Lund University.

As of 2017 he also holds a part-time position at Lund University School of Economics and Management as a PhD student. His research is focused on creating environment value in the sales process.

Erik is firmly convinced that good environmental performance is an excellent basis for creating competitiveness today, and even more so in the future.

In his spare time, he practices both golf and karate, although rarely at the same time.

Erik is married with three children and lives in Lund, Sweden.

Maurizio Patarnello, Chief Executive at Nestlé Waters

Maurizio Patarnello has a degree in Business Administration from the University of Bologna. He graduated from the IMD Business School, and holds an MBA from STOA Business School.

He has spent the majority of his career within the Swiss food giant Nestlé, which he joined in 1993 to hold various functions in finance, before integrating San Pellegrino six years later. Maurizio took on a number of increasing responsibilities at Nestlé Waters International, particularly in the MEA area, and was appointed Nestlé market Manager in Ukraine and then in Russia. He has been president and CEO of Nestlé Waters since January 1, 2017.

Nestlé Waters is the international subsidy of Nestlé dedicated to bottled water. Its key brands are Perrier, San Pellegrino, Vittel and Contrex.

With sales of 8 billion CHF in 2017, the company has 30 200 employees.

Roberta Barbieri, Vice President - Global Water & Environmental Stewardship at PepsiCo 

Roberta Barbieri is PepsiCo’s Vice President for Global Water and Environmental Solutions. In this role, she is accountable for executing the environmental and water sustainability strategy of the company, including integration of environmental sustainability into core business processes, and delivery of PepsiCo’s Performance with Purpose goals for Climate, Water, Waste and Sustainable Packaging. Before joining PepsiCo, Roberta worked for Diageo, where she held the position of Global Environmental Director and served as the principal architect of Diageo's Global Environmental Sustainability strategy.  Prior to Diageo, Roberta spent five years at Vivendi Universal where she was responsible for leading the company's global EHS compliance auditing program and developing the company’s first EHS management system.

Roberta is past chair of the Beverage Industry Environmental Roundtable’s Water Working Group and has served on the Steering Committee for the CEO Water Mandate.  Roberta holds an MS in Environmental Engineering and an MS in Environmental Science from the University of New Haven, as well as a BS in Environmental Conservation and International Studies from the University of New Hampshire.  In addition to her native English, Roberta speaks Spanish and Italian.

Yui Kamikawa, Senior Manager - Public Policy, Environmental Sustainability & Social Impact at The Coca-Cola Company 

Within The Coca-Cola Company’s global sustainability function, Yui looks after packaging sustainability strategy and The Coca-Cola Company’s global World Without Waste program. He has worked in Africa, Asia, North America and Europe, and the last 10 years in the field of packaging sustainability and recycling. He is currently based in London.


Jason Morrison, President of Pacific Institute and Head of CEO Mandate

Jason Morrison joined the Pacific Institute in 1993 and became its president in October 2016. As president, he oversees the Institute and its activities, focusing on broadening and amplifying the organization’s reach and impact.

Additionally, Jason serves as the Head of the CEO Water Mandate, an initiative of the United Nations Global Compact, and has supported the initiative since 2008 with applied research, event organization, and other services. He is also a co-founder of the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS), a global initiative that has developed and is now implementing a freshwater certification program to advance responsible water practices by water providers and large-scale users.

He previously directed the Institute’s Corporate Sustainability Program, studying the policy implications of private sector sustainability initiatives, with a focus on freshwater-related business risks and on sustainable water management in the business community.

Jason received a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of California, San Diego and a Master’s Degree in Energy and Environmental Studies from Boston University.


Boris Smoje, Group Commercial Manager and Sales Development Manager Metal Beverge Europe at Ardagh

Boris Smoje is the Ardagh Group Commercial Manager and Sales Development Manager of Ardagh’s ‘Metal Beverage Europe’ division.

Smoje has over 13 years of experience in the metal packaging sector working in a variety of commercial roles to drive sales and develop markets across Europe.

His career in metal packaging began in 2005 with Henkel. In 2009, Smoje decided to take his career to the next level with Ball Packaging Europe where he became the Sales Manager of the Balkan Region. Following his success, he was promoted to leading the European Soft Drinks Key Accounts in 2012 and took over the role of the Sales Manager UK & Ireland to develop especially new categories like water and craft beer in 2015.

In 2018, Smoje was given the opportunity to become the Group Commercial Manager of the Ardagh Group and Sales Development Manager for the newly acquired division ‘Ardagh Metal Beverage’.

Andy Peykoff II, Chief Executive Officer of Niagara Waters

Family owned and operated since 1963, Andy’s humble beginnings at Niagara Bottling started in manufacturing as a teenager. By 26, he became CEO and since then has worked to build the largest privately held beverage company in North America. Niagara supplies global and local retailers and contract manufactures for some of the country’s most recognized beverage brands.

Andy continues his commitment to world-class manufacturing and supply chain by investing in industry-leading software and the fastest, most technologically advanced PET bottling lines in the world. Under Andy’s leadership, Niagara has grown from two to over 30 manufacturing facilities producing a diverse range of beverages including still, sparkling and flavored water, tea and isotonics. His dedication to product innovation and environmental sustainability at Niagara has paved the way for the design of one of the lightest bottles in the world and the company becoming the largest user of recycled PET in North America.  

Andy’s entrepreneurial spirit and passion for innovation has built a unique high growth culture that drives Niagara’s success.  The company’s numerous awards include Beverage Forum’s Large Company of the Year and Ernst and Young’s National Entrepreneur of the Year for Family Business. Vincent Le Guen, Vice President - Packaging at Sidel Group

Vincent Le Guen is Vice President Packaging. Based in France, he has led Sidel Packaging Services since 2011 and his responsibilities include all areas of the packaging development, such as packaging and preform design, packaging optimisation and qualification as well as liquid-package interaction analysis. By looking holistically at the packaging, Vincent and his team ensure beverage producers get most value out of their containers. Having over 20 years of experience in this field, Vincent actually began his career with Sidel in 1990 holding various positions including Zone Manager and Manager of the Packaging Design department. In 2001 he joined Coca-Cola as Packaging Innovation Manager for Europe and the Middle East and in 2003 he became Managing Director of Plastic Technologies Inc. Europe (PTI-Europe). In 2011, Vincent re-joined Sidel as Vice President for Packaging. A French national, he holds a Master's degree in Engineering & Sales from different European Universities.

Volker Spiesmacher, Director - Sales and Marketing at Bericap 

Volker Spiesmacher, born in 1954, graduated as an Economist in 1984 from the University of Mainz, Germany.

He has been working in the packaging industry since 1986 and during this time has held  various positions, including working as Sales Manager for Tetra Pak Germany.In Russia he was appointed Deputy General Director at JV Progress, a food processing company producing apple concentrates and which was at that time the second largest juice bottler in the region. The company was a joint venture between Tetra Pak and the Russian State.

In Serbia Volker gained experience as Sales Director for Tetra Pak, building up the new sales organisation after the crises in the former Yugoslavia.Back in Germany he held the position of Vice President – Sales & Services, Europe/Asia for White Cap, a company of Schmalbach Lubeca, which became first Amcor White Cap and subsequently Silgan White Cap. In this role he gained management experience in many countries, including across Europe as well as in Asia and South America.

Ms. Anjana Ghosh is the Director of Marketing and Business Development at Bisleri International Pvt Ltd.

After having worked in the steel industry for over15 years, Ms. Ghosh joined Bisleri in June 2006 as Deputy General Manager, Sales & Marketing. Over the next three years, Ms. Ghosh grew with the brand to General Manager and to Director. In her current capacity as Director, she has been the driving force behind the new image and market reach of Bisleri and its consistent profitable growth year on year.

Ms. Ghosh was primarily responsible for bringing innovation to the brand and strategizing the engineering of Bisleri from Blue to Green. After the brand re-engineering the new and young image of vibrant Bisleri ensured that the company's sales zoomed ahead. The journey from Blue to Green saw a revolution of change in the perception and demand of the brand.

She is strategically and aggressively growing the brand by working on market penetration with a winning and prudent combination of backward and forward integration. Henri Bruxelles started his career at Danone in 1987 where he had several assignments in Marketing in Germany, France, Spain and Brazil as VP Marketing for Danone Brazil in 1998. 

In 2002, he was appointed VP Marketing of Danone France and in 2004, VP Marketing of Dairy WWBU. Then in 2008, he was Chief Marketing Officer of Danone. 

In 2010, he was appointed General Manager of Danone Portugal and, in 2013, General Manager of Danone Argentina. 

In May 2015, Henri Bruxelles became Regional VP Waters Latam. 

In October 2017, Henry Bruxelles joined the Executive Committee as EVP, Waters,and Africa. 


Ken Uptain, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Essentia Water, United States

Essentia Water, supercharged ionized alkaline water that is better at rehydrating than a leading bottled water.1 After a successful career in construction and real estate development, Ken emerged out of semi-retirement to establish Essentia Water and bring its benefits to the mainstream. Ken had met with experts locally and globally, including Dr. Hanaoka in Japan who shared his research on the rehydration potential of ionized water, before embarking on perfecting his own proprietary ionization process.

In 1998, well ahead of the industry, Ken pioneered the first ionized alkaline water offered in the US, which remains the #1 alkaline water sold nationally.2 Ken’s drive to help people and deliver meaningful results has endeared him to many and most importantly to his loyal employees.

Ken is an entrepreneur who lives by a “work hard, have fun” motto. In his free time, Ken enjoys golfing and fishing.

Jesus Nunez, Managing Director - Water Unit at Mahou San Miguel

Jesús joined Mahou San Miguel in 2011 and has headed the Waters Business Unit since 2013.p At the same time, he is a member of the Executive Committee in ANEABE (Spanish Water Association) and ADECA (San Telmo International Institute), as well as Professor in the CSR Master's Program at the IE Business School.

Prior to that, he held various positions, most recently as Director of Corporate Social Responsibility and Labour Relations, and General Manager of the Mahou San Miguel Foundation.

He is a lawyer and holds a Master's Degree in Human Resources Management from the IE Business School. In addition to other qualifications, he completed the Executive Development Program in Business Administration and Management in the IESE Business School at the University of Navarra, and also holds a diploma in CSR from the Harvard Business School.

He started his professional business career in 1997 at Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira as an associate attorney in the labour area, moving two years later to Garrigues (Andersen Legal), where he worked before joining our company.

Joe Bayern, Chief Executive of VOSS

Mr. Bayern is currently the CEO of VOSS of Norway and has over 20 years of experience in the beverage industry.  He has been with VOSS since 2011 where he’s help build VOSS into a globally recognized brand.  During his tenure the brand has more than tripled in revenue and is poised for significant future growth by leveraging recent strategic partnerships with Reignwood Group, the franchise holder of Red Bull in China, and The Pepsi Bottling Company in the US.

Prior to joining VOSS, Joe held several C-Level positions with The Snapple Beverage Group, Cadbury Schweppes and the Dr Pepper Snapple group where he was part of several turnaround and business transformation initiatives including the turnaround of Snapple in the late nineties, the consolidation of Cadbury’s North American beverage businesses and the acquisition and integration of The Dr Pepper Seven Up Bottling group.


Kenny Lim, Chief Executive Officer at Spritzer 

Lim Seng Lee (Kenny), aged 43, male, a Malaysian and was appointed to the Board on October 15, 2015. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in International Business from San Francisco State University, United States.

He joined Spritzer Bhd as a Sales Executive in 2003. He was promoted to Marketing Manager in year 2007 and until to date, he has been involved in sales and marketing activities in the bottled water market.

In 2008, he took the position of Deputy General Manager and was responsible to assist the Managing Director and General Manager to plan and set up the company’s policy and objectives. At the same time, he was involved in strategic planning and Corporate Social Responsibility of the Company. In 2011, he has been promoted to be the Group General Manager and responsible to oversee and ensures the overall operation activities of the Company are in accordance with the Company’s policies and objectives. In October 2018, he has been appointed as Asia Middle East Bottled Water Association (ABWA) President.   

Ross Colbert, Global Sector Head - Beverages for Rabobank International

Prior to his current role, Ross Colbert was Global Strategist for Beverages in Rabobank’s Food & Agri Research and Advisory (“FAR”) group from  January 2011 until June 2016. He was also Head of FAR North America where he directed Rabobank’s Food & Agri Research coverage across all major F&A sectors in North America.

Colbert joined Rabobank in 2011 following an extensive 25 year career as an investment banker focused on global beverages. His M&A experience includes closing over 60 beverage industry transactions across the US, Latin America, Europe and Africa.

Before joining Rabobank he was Managing Director of Zenith International, a leading consulting, market intelligence and financial advisory firm focused on the global beverage industry. Prior to that, he was Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer for eight years at Beverage Marketing Corporation. Over his career he has served as an advisor to Nestle, PepsiCo, The Coca-Cola Company, and Heineken, as well as many independent, beverage companies and private equity investors. He began his career with Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Miami and Cadbury Schweppes plc. He is a graduate of the University of Hawaii and has completed executive programs at University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School and Harvard Business School.


Daniel Zimmermann, Managing Director - Europe at Fizzique 

Daniel holds a Master of Business Administration from the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.

He has over 25 years of experience in strategic business management and consulting including positions at McKinsey & Company in Zurich and Atlanta, International Management Group and FKG Communications, a Formula 1 team owner.  As an independent entrepreneur and business owner since 2000, he manages careers of professional athletes in a variety of sports, advises sports clubs in marketing and television rights matters and acts as event organizer.  

He has served as a board advisor for Fizzique LLC’s parent company, NEXT Proteins, Inc., for the last 20 years and has had a personal relationship with the Fizzique LLC’s founder since 1984.   Since the launch of fizzique, Daniel also acts as Fizzique LLC’s Managing Director - Europe.                               

Oliver Bolton, Founder and Managing Director at Waterbomb Ltd

Oliver has been working in the soft drinks industry over the last 12 years, having founded his disruptive hydration business, Waterbomb in 2007. Waterbomb was the first European soft drinks company to become a B Corp in 2015 and Oliver is dedicated to building purpose-led brands that support people and the planet. He launched his new food-tech platform, Almond earlier this year. Almond is a blockchain based ecosystem that aims to create an alternative goods market to better benefit consumers, the planet and purpose driven brands. A secure, hidden ‘Almond Matrix Code’ is included on partner products to create a unique digital identity which then allows brands to share specific product supply-chain data and offer token loyalty rewards. Almond launches in partnership with Waterbomb's new ‘FACT’ organic flavoured, zero sugar water.


Adrian Sym, Chief Executive Officer for Alliance for Water Stewardship

As Chief Executive, Adrian Sym leads the pioneering work of the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS), a global membership-based collaboration that ignites and nurtures global and local leadership in credible water stewardship. Adrian has led AWS since 2011, ensuring that the International Water Stewardship Standard is recognized globally both for its credibility and its ability to inspire water users and managers to be responsible stewards of our freshwater resources.  A development and sustainability professional, Adrian has extensive international experience ranging from Fairtrade International in Germany to grassroots NGOs in Nepal and Bangladesh.  

His diverse experience, together with his academic background (Masters in International Policy and Diplomacy), has helped to shape Adrian’s view on sustainable development, believing that this can only be achieved through relationships built on trust and respect amongst and between stakeholder groups.


Patrick Lachassagne, Water Resources Science and Expertise Team Leader at Danone Waters

Patrick Lachassagne, 54, is Doctor in Quantitative Hydrology and Hydrogeology from the Paris School of Mines (1989) and graduated with a Professorial Level (HDR) from the Montpellier 2 University (2008).

He is “Water Resources Science and Expertise Team Leader” for Danone Waters Worldwide since 2017. As such, he is in charge, with his team, of improving the knowledge about the structure and hydrogeological functioning of the springs and aquifers bottled worldwide by the Danone Group Waters Division, of developing the expertise of, and training the Danone Waters “Water Resource Managers” in charge of the day-to-day survey, management, protection, etc. of the bottled groundwater resources in the different countries, and also on scientifically valorizing these results with them. Patrick is also in charge of some Danone Waters sustainability projects, particularly the ”Blue Print” Water Stewardship project.

Patrick Lachassagne has previously been, for 9 years, head of “Environment and Water Resources” for the French springs of the Danone Company in France (Evian, Volvic, Badoit and La Salvetat Natural Mineral Water springs/brands). He was in charge, with his team, of improving the knowledge about the structure and hydrogeological functioning, and of managing these Natural Mineral Water Resources, and also of defining and implementing the Protection Policies devoted to the preservation of their purity.

Patrick Lachassagne was before, for about 20 years, a researcher and the head of a Research Unit in hydrogeology at BRGM’s Water Division (the French Geological Survey).

He is the authors of several peer reviewed scientific papers in the field of hydrogeology, with papers particularly dealing with complex aquifers, such as Hard Rock aquifers, volcanic aquifers, thermal and mineral waters (see Patrick regularly delivers lectures and training courses, internally in the Danone group and externally, for various French universities, notably in the frame of the “Water Institute by Evian” (

He is presently Secretary of the French Chapter of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH).
