The UK bottled water market has grown beyond imagination since the first industry event in 1992, under a halo of healthy convenience.

James Piper, Chief Executive Officer of Ecosurety 

James Piper is CEO of Ecosurety, the market leading compliance scheme investing in quality recycling. James is driven to bring about positive change in the compliance market through increased transparency and accountability. Since taking the position of CEO in 2016, he has worked to demonstrate that recycling compliance need not be perceived as a tax, but an opportunity for brands to align their producer responsibility obligations with their sustainability agenda.

In this way producers are now demanding more from their compliance spend and James and the Ecosurety team are leading the way through a collaborative approach across areas of education, innovation, collaboration and infrastructure in the UK recycling sector. Paul Rhodes, SHE and External Affairs Manager at Greggs 

Paul is the External Affairs Manager at Greggs. Although originally qualifying as an Industrial Chemist, Paul moved into Safety, Health and Environmental management within the chemical industry for a period before taking a similar role within Greggs. More recently, Paul has taken on the role of External Affairs Manager, supporting the business in driving its Sustainability strategy. Externally, Paul sits on a number of trade associations and sector groups supporting the retail industry in sustainable business practices. Away from work, Paul and his wife spend the majority of their time looking after their 6 children, meaning time for anything else is always considered a ‘luxury’.

Simon Johnson, Insight and Advisory Director at Zenith Global Ltd 

Simon Johnson is Zenith’s Insight and Advisory Director.

Simon is experienced in business planning, competitor analysis, distributor recommendations, pricing and promotion recommendations, route to market analysis and market quantification. Simon has worked on multiple international beverage assignments and is considered the go-to expert in developing strategy and opportunities for food and drink businesses.

Prior to joining Zenith Simon worked as a Business Manager for an International Development organisation and as a Business Analyst at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Sara Royo Alcalde, Strategic Insight Director for Kantar Worldpanel

Sara is Strategic Insight Director at Kantar Worldpanel where she works across a wide range of big-name soft drinks manufactures and FMCG brands.

Sara has international experience with Kantar Worldpanel, where she’s been for a decade and developed her career and a passion for delivering consumer insights which have tangible results on her clients’ bottom line.

In her current role, she leads a variety of accounts across packaged groceries and projects which inspire clients in a wide range of sectors to take successful decisions about their brands.

Sara is passionate about the effective communication of insight, and regularly presents Kantar Worldpanel’s latest Thought Leadership to her clients and contributes as a speaker at the company’s client-facing events.  

Simon Oldham, Chief Commercial Officer of Highland Spring Group 

Simon has nearly 25 years of FMCG commercial experience having begun his career at Procter & Gamble. He started as an analyst before taking on a number of roles in the Sales, Marketing and Commercial planning functions, initially at P&G and subsequently Whyte & Mackay where he went on to run the UK Commercial team as UK MD.

Simon joined Highland Spring Group in 2010, originally as Sales Director, and is now Chief Commercial Officer, leading the company’s Sales, Marketing, Export, Technical and Supply Chain teams to create consumer demand and drive growth domestically and overseas.

Simon is actively involved with the grocery industry’s benevolent charity, Grocery Aid, where we sits on the Presidents Fund Raising Committee. (PFRC)

Michel Beneventi, Business Executive Officer of Nestlé Waters UK Ltd

Michel joined as the BEO for Nestlé Waters UK Ltd, in September 2017, previously he was Country Manager at Nestlé Trinidad and Tobago Limited and Nestlé Caribbean Inc. (NCI) for 3 years. Before moving to Trinidad, Michel was the Country Business Manager of Nestlé Waters Switzerland. Previously to that Michel held the position of CFO at Nestlé Waters Zone Europe for 5 years, based in Paris at the Headquarters of the Nestlé Waters group and was before at Nestlé Waters Hungary from 2001 until 2003. Michel joined Nestlé in 1998.

Gemma Morgan, Marketing Manager - Evian and Badoit at Danone Waters UK & Ireland

Gemma leads the marketing for Evian in UK, an iconic brand of the category and a flagship brand of Danone. She joined Danone Waters UK/IR in 2017 to head up the evian marketing team, and shortly after managed the announcement of Evian's commitment to be 100% circular by 2025. She is passionate about driving forward this commitment, as well as activating the brand’s unique ‘Live Young’ platform and its partnership with The Championships, Wimbledon.  She began her marketing career in Danone’s Dairy Division in the UK working on the Activia and Actimel brands. She later moved to Canada leading the Naya brand relaunch for Danone Naya Waters, before returning to the UK Dairy Division to lead communications on Activia. In 2010 she moved to Johnson and Johnson, where as Global Senior Marketing Manager she led strategy, communications and innovation for the Cough Cold franchise. She returned to Danone to take up her current post.

Nick Brown, Head of Sustainability for Coca-Cola European Partners 

Nick Brown is Head of Sustainability for Coca-Cola European Partners in the UK, leading the company’s work on Sustainable Packaging, Community Programmes, Water stewardship, Energy & Climate Change, and Sustainable Agriculture.

Nick has had a number of roles in Operational & Commercial functions at CCEP driving change and innovation through the organisation.

Outside of work, Nick is a father of 3 young boys, a Scout Leader and keen club cyclist when time allows.

Eliot Whittington, Director of Policy at Cambridge Institute for Sustainability and Director of The Prince of Wales's Leaders Group

Eliot leads CISL’s team that bridges between business and policy makers to bring about a more sustainable economy. He is the current Director of The Prince of Wales’s Corporate Leaders Group, which brings together businesses to work towards a step change in policy and action on climate change, and of the EU Green Growth Platform, which creates a common space for governments, businesses and parliamentarians to collaborate in support of a greener EU economy.

Eliot’s work has a strong focus on climate change, but he also helps drive action on the circular economy, plastics and issues around the social and justice implications of economic change. He represents the Corporate Leaders Group on the board of the We Mean Business Coalition and has been responsible for CISL work that has included collaborations with the World Bank, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the UNFCCC, a number of European governments and a wide range of senior business stakeholders

Chris Sanders, Sales Director of Radnor Hills

Chris Sanders is Sales Director of Radnor Hills Mineral Water Company Ltd. Since joining Radnor Hills in 2008 Chris has worked his way up from local van sales representative to Sales Director, managing a team of 12 and a turnover of 42 million.  When Chris joined Radnor Hills their turnover was circa 13 million and he claims to have had a full head of hair, something he omits he is unable to claim now. During his time in sales, he has worked in Foodservice, Retail, On-trade, and the CTN channels and thoroughly enjoys working across such a diverse industry.

Chris and his team are constantly working with their customers to adapt to customer and industry challenges as well as evolve categories and the launch of their newest range, Radnor Energy demonstrates this.

Jamie Douglas-Hamilton, Founder and Director of  ACTIPH Water

Jamie founded ACTIPH water after rowing from Australia to Africa when he realised mixing small amounts of sea water with their water hydrated them faster than ordinary water. This inspired him to research water all over the world to see what else was possible with enhancing water. He found alkaline ionised water in Japan and with this technology was the first to market in Europe and is now pioneering the growth of this new category.

Oliver Bolton, Founder and Managing Director or Almond and Waterbomb Ltd

Oliver has been working in the soft drinks industry over the last 12 years, having founded his disruptive hydration business, Waterbomb in 2007. Waterbomb was the first European soft drinks company to become a B Corp in 2015 and Oliver is dedicated to building purpose-led brands that support people and the planet. He launched his new food-tech platform, Almond earlier this year. Almond is a blockchain based ecosystem that aims to create an alternative goods market to better benefit consumers, the planet and purpose-driven brands. Simon Green, Partner and Commercial Director of Tudor Drinks

Simon has a broad experience having spent the best part of 20 years working in the drinks industry.  The earlier part of his career saw him spend time at Heineken, GSK, and Carlsberg, where he had a variety of sales, marketing and NPD roles.  More recently he was the marketing & export director at Global Brands where he curated and developed their portfolio drinks brands on products such as Franklins & Sons, Hooch, VK and licensed brands form Diageo and Molson Coors. 

Simon is now a partner in Tudor Drinks and working entrepreneurially to build Harry Brompton’s London Ice Tea. He has been instrumental in developing and launching LOVEAU, an innovative and premium brand for the fast-growing sparkling infused water category.

Kris Ingham, Founder of Rejuvenation

After quitting his job in the City, Kris launched innovative health drink, Rejuvenation Water, in early 2016. After discovering the health benefits of Amino Acids 10 years previous to this, Kris set about bringing Amino Acids to the mass market in a convenient and tasty way, hence Rejuvenation Water was born.
