Richard Hall, Chairman of Zenith Global Ltd

Richard Hall is an acknowledged expert on the international food and drinks sector, chairing and speaking at numerous industry conferences as well as offering independent comment on In April 2018, he served as an expert witness in one of the largest court cases in US corporate tax history.

With a degree in Economics and Government from the University of Bath, where he was also Students’ Union President, he worked in the Group Commercial Department of UK dairy market leader Unigate before joining the Dairy Trade Federation as Economic Adviser.

in five years as a Director of the Dairy Trade Federation, he also served as its Head of Public Relations and as Secretary General of the European Federation of Dairy Retailers. From 1987 to 1990 he was Director and General Manager of beverage market consultancy Canadean.

He formed Zenith in 1991 as a specialist business consultancy for the food and drink industries. The company now has 40 staff working for more than 1,000 clients in over 50 countries. It provides a full range of consulting and market information services. In 2015, Zenith acquired the Beverage Digest business in the United States.

He also chairs FoodBev Media, which he founded in 2000. Its team of 15 staff publishes two business journals and manages the website.

Richard has undertaken many consultancy projects over the past 25 years as well as helping form several industry organisations, including the foundation and chairmanship of the Natural Hydration Council. In 2010 he was Series Consultant for the BBC Money Programme series on The Foods That Make Billions.

In 2013 he completed six years as Chairman of the Bath & North East Somerset Quartet Community Foundation, after two years as Chairman of the Bath City of Festivals Steering Group and two previous years as President of Bath Chamber of Commerce. He is currently a Director of Bath Philharmonia and a Governor of Royal High School Bath.

Duane Stanford, Executive Editor of Beverage Digest

Duane is Executive Editor of Beverage Digest, a newsletter covering the non-alcoholic drinks business. Previously, he spent 23 years at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Bloomberg News. His experience in the beverage industry spans more than a decade.

While at Bloomberg’s Atlanta bureau, Duane was a regular contributor to Businessweek magazine and to Bloomberg television and radio. He also appeared on programs including NPR’s Marketplace. Most of Duane’s time at the AJC was spent covering local, state and federal government, as well as politics. He joined the Business Desk in 2006 to cover beverages.

Duane graduated from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, where he met his wife of more than two decades. Laura Stanford is Beverage Digest’s marketing & subscriptions manager. They have a daughter in high school and a son in college. Duane is a serial PTA president and volunteer, holds a now rarely-used pilot’s license, and enjoys competitive tennis.

Andrew Kuiler, CEO of The Silk Inititave 

Andrew is the founder and CEO of The Silk Initiative, China’s only specialized food and beverage insights-driven brand consultancy. A native Australian, Andrew has managed a global career in leadership positions at large multinational agencies in Shanghai, New York, and Sydney before carving out his own path with the launch of TSI.

Steve Galloway, Advisor to Beverage Japan  

Steve Galloway is Founder and Managing Director of Galloway & Associates, a UK and Asia-based strategy consultancy specialising in international food and drink markets, and Partner of Beverage Japan magazine. Steve spent many years living and working in Japan and much of his work now focuses on supporting F&B companies and organisations in market research, innovation and growth strategies in Japan and in other Asian markets. A regular monthly contributor through the Japan Innovations page in Foodbev Media’s Foodbev Magazine on new beverage products, innovations and market developments in Japan, Steve also presents at conferences and events around the world on insights and strategy in the Japanese and Asian markets.

Fraser McKevitt, Head of Retail and Consumer Insight at Kantar Worldpanel 

In over a decade at Kantar Worldpanel, Fraser McKevitt has helped advise some of the country's biggest brands and supermarkets. He is an expert in ever changing consumer and shopping behaviours, explaining how and why these trends influence and impact both manufactures and retailers. He closely watches and describes as the grocers battle competitively for market share each month. Fraser's opinions are regularly sought by the industry, broadcast media, national newspapers and the business press.

 Simon Wainwright, Director of Insight at IGD

Simon joined IGD in 2017 to lead the Retail teams research and coverage on the UK multiples, focusing on the strategies being used to meet current and future consumer needs. As Director of Insight, Simon leads the UK Retail and Shopper teams covering UK multiples, online, convenience and FTG. Simon is also becoming increasingly well-known across the industry through his chairing of IGD UK retailer supplier engagement events and media work.

Simon Johnson, Insight and Advisory Director at Zenith Global Ltd 

Simon is experienced in business planning, competitor analysis, distributor recommendations, pricing and promotion recommendations, route to market analysis and market quantification. Simon has worked on multiple international beverage assignments and is considered the go-to expert in developing strategy and opportunities for food and drink businesses.

Prior to joining Zenith Simon worked as a Business Manager for an International Development organisation and as a Business Analyst at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Anne Wong - Erven, Insight and Advisory Director at Zenith Global Ltd

Anne Wong-Erven is Zenith’s Insight & Advisory Director. She is responsible for leading the Insights and Advisory team. She has experience undertaking market opportunity assessments, route-to-market strategy and channel distribution analysis, new product development and mergers & acquisitions studies.

Anne has undertaken in-depth commercial feasibility studies in North America, Europe and Africa.

Robin Bell, Senior Consultant at Zenith Global Ltd

Robin has 15 years strategic marketing and product development experience in the food, beverage and consumer leisure goods industries. Prior to joining Zenith, he has worked extensively across all aspects of marketing for international consumer durables and FMCG food businesses.

Robin has successfully led new market entry projects for U.S. consumer durables business, The Jarden Corporation, enabling its portfolio of leisure brands to enter and maximise European market opportunity, creating and defining marketing strategies from the ground up across both trade and retail channels, to quickly gain traction and deliver sales. Most recently Robin has launched both food service and direct to consumer food and beverage product ranges into new and existing markets for Apetito AG and Kerry Foods, executing product and route to market strategies to outperform forecasts.

Yumiko Wilkey, Senior Insight at Zenith Global Ltd

Yumiko is Senior Insight Manager within the Insight & Advisory team at Zenith Global. Yumiko joined the company in 2010 as a Market Analyst for research and consultancy projects. Since then, she has had various responsibilities within the company and progressed in seniority. 

Yumiko is an expert with 9 years’ experience in managing global market intelligence projects within the food and beverage industry, with a focus on the Asia Pacific region.

Mr. Fowden is Executive Chairman of Cott Corporation (NYSE: COT, TSX:BCB) & was previously its CEO from 2009 until 2019. Cott Corporation is an international water, coffee, tea, filtration & beverage manufacturing & service company with operations in twenty countries across North America & Europe.

Jerry Fowden joined Cott in September 2007.

Prior to joining Cott, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Trader Media Group, undertook various roles with AB InBev, including global Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer of the AB InBev subsidiary Bass Brewers, was Managing Director of the Rank Group's Hospitality Division and served on the Rank Group Plc's Board of Directors, was Chief Executive Officer of Hero AG's European beverage operations, and undertook various international roles within PepsiCo's beverage operations across the US, Europe, Middle East and Africa, as well as having sales, marketing and management roles with Mars pet care operations.

Shaun Browne, Managing Director & Co-Head of UK Corporate Finance at Houlihan Lokey

Mr Browne is Co-Head of UK Corporate Finance based in our London office, working with all industry teams, as well as Finance Sponsors Coverage Group and Capital Markets. In addition, he is head of Houlihan Lokey’s Consumer, Food & Retail Group in Europe. His original area of specific expertise is in the Food & Beverage sector, where he has advised on more than 100 completed transactions.

Mr Browne was previously Managing Director of McQueen, the London-based investment bank focused on the consumer sectors, which he co-founded in 2002. McQueen grew to be one of the most successful M&A advisors to the European consumer sector prior to its acquisition by Houlihan Lokey in 2015.

Prior to McQueen, Mr Browne co-founded the Consumer M&A team at HSBC (1999-2002) and was CEO of HSBC Investment Bank in India (1996-1999).

He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers in London in 1988 and joined HSBC in 1992.
