Bottled water industry pours into Buxton
This year's UK bottled water industry conference is being held in Buxton on 16th and 17th November. The programme includes visits to the Buxton source and bottling plant as well as a tour and dinner in the magnificent setting of Chatsworth.
The conference itself will be opened by Nikita Droin, Managing Director of Perrier Vittel UK Ltd, which produces Buxton natural mineral water, and the keynote address will be given by Alan Garbutt from Canadian industry leader Naya, which is the fastest growing recent entrant on the UK market. Another highlight will be insights from James Heese of Asda about the implications of its integration with the giant US based Wal-Mart group.
After a market overview from Zenith International and a series of workshops, the conference sessions conclude with a major development for the industry - the start of a public dialogue between bottled water and tap water. The mains water sector will be represented by two of its most senior figures: Michael Rouse, Chief Inspector of the Drinking Water Inspectorate; and Chris Mellor, Managing Director of Anglian Water plc.
The event is being organised by specialist consultants Zenith International and its theme is "Bottled Water: Selling the Difference."
