Workshop on groundwater risk management
As the leading management, commercial and technical consultancy to the international bottled water industry, Zenith International is organising a one day workshop on groundwater risk management for water resource managers on 19th April 2005 in Bath.
Bottled water businesses spend years building a reputation based on a groundwater source. However sources can encounter problems and sometimes even fail. Yield can decline, nitrate levels can rise, subtle changes of chemistry become important. Bio-film can develop, microbiology can degrade, microbiological reactions become established and materials deteriorate.
Sound risk management calls for an understanding of how sources work, from catchment to line manifold. The process needs to integrate engineering, hydrogeological, hydrochemical, microbiological and materials considerations.
“This workshop will review the source as an entity,” commented Dr Ric Horobin, Zenith Water & Environment Manager, adding: “It will enable operators of bottled water sources to assess and manage the risks more effectively.” Zenith successfully develops, manages and troubleshoots groundwater sources for large and small companies around the world, using integrated engineering, hydrogeological and food safety expertise.
The workshop will cost £350 per delegate or £600 for two delegates. Full details are available online at www.zenithwater.com. For further information, contact Dr Ric Horobin on tel +44 (0)1225 327963 or e-mail gw@zenithinternational.com.
