Due diligence

As the technical advisor to a large European water bottler, we successfully completed a source and environmental due diligence project to support the purchase of a target facility.

The project involved a hydrogeological study and catchment assessment of a bottling facility in North America. We developed a conceptual model of the local groundwater system and assessed potential sustainable water sources. The assessment identified risks that required addressing from source to factory. As part of our service, we also advised on local regulations regarding water classification, environmental compliance, abstraction rights and labelling.

Our regulatory and knowledge of water quality in different geological environments meant we were able to successfully develop a water sampling strategy and assess the water classification and labelling compliance. Our long experience of working with water bottlers to support their acquisition strategies enables us to clearly assess and quantify risks, resulting in successful transactions.
