Join dairy industry leaders from around the world at the 14th Global Dairy Congress, hosted in Laval near Paris, France - home to the world’s largest dairy group, Lactalis. This three-day event includes a tour of the world’s biggest Camembert cheese factory, two days of conference sessions, a gala awards dinner and extensive networking opportunities. Delegates will hear from key international and regional manufacturers, analysts and innovators, covering a range of key issues for the global dairy industry to ensure a ‘sustainable future’.
About the event
The 14th annual Global Dairy Congress is designed for manufacturers, suppliers, customers and advisers, with a focus on the latest market trends and thinking on a worldwide scale from leading international and regional brands, allowing extensive time for informal networking and discussion.
This year’s theme of “Sustainable future” binds together every aspect of the industry’s outlook, with conference sessions ranging from global market and industry change through brand success stories and innovation to the challenges of marketing and sustainability. Tour Président facility producing 520,000 Camemberts per day. Plant employs 350 people, processing 500 million litres a year from 900 farms. Camembert varieties include bio, campagne, light, reduced salt and portions. Sales of €130 million a year include exports to 145 countries.

Dr. Rupinder Singh Sodhi is Managing Director of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation, Ltd., (AMUL), which is India’s largest Food Products organization with annual turnover of more than Rs. 33,000 crores (US $ 4.6 billion) during 2018-19.
Dr. Sodhi has 37 years of rich experience in leading & developing cooperative sector within Indian dairy industry, having served dairy farmers in several capacities. He has been responsible for creating the current structure of the AMUL, enabling the organization to maintain and enhance its leadership status within Indian dairy industry. Member unions of GCMMF are procuring 23 million liters of milk per day from more than 18,600 Village Dairy Co-operative societies. For more than three decades, Dr. Sodhi has worked under direct guidance & mentorship of father of white revolution, Dr. Verghese Kurien and has ensured that values cherished by Dr. Kurien, such as integrity, dedication, courage, honesty, commitment to farmers and to consumers, remained deeply ingrained in the culture of AMUL. Dr. Sodhi has obtained his Bachelor (Agriculture) degree from CTAE, Udaipur, India and he is first-batch alumnus from Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA).

Richard has been Managing Director of Omsco since 2015, prior to that he was the Chief Operating Officer and has been instrumental in the growth of the business from a £25m co-operative to the £100m plus business it is today.
During his time at Omsco, Richard has developed the business from an organic milk co-operative with annual sales of 70m litres of raw milk to the UK processing industry, to a business supplying 250m litres of UK organic dairy products across the world. Omsco is the UK’s main supplier of organic milk and the second largest dedicated organic milk pool in the world, with over 200 farmer-owner members and with core customers in the UK, Europe and the USA. Richard is now focused on the next phase of growth for Omsco as they look to gain a greater share of the global market and capitalise on the demand for organic ingredients for infant formula. Richard is passionate about the organic dairy industry, and has been pivotal in the co-operative building partnerships with a range of processors overseas, plus an alliance with Organic Valley in the USA – the world’s largest dedicated organic milk pool. As a result, Omsco has developed a global spread of customers for a broad range of specialist organic dairy powders, is the UK’s largest organic cheese producer and the UK’s only source of organic whey.

Rabobank’s Global Dairy Strategist Mary Ledman has over thirty years of experience which includes production agriculture, food processing, government service, agricultural policy, dairy risk management, market information and dissemination...
and milk and dairy product price forecasting. Mary sets Rabobank’s dairy research agenda and directs a team of 10 analysts around the globe. Rabobank's dairy franchise has €25 billion euros credit outstanding globally and services 17 out of the top 20 dairy companies by turnover, as well as financing farmer clients in Oceania, Europe and the Americas. Mary grew up on a dairy farm in southwest Wisconsin. She received a Master of Science degree in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University and a Fulbright Fellowship to study in Germany. Her work experience includes the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Kraft Foods, Stella Foods, and the Daily Dairy Report.

Dr. Yun Zhanyou is Assistant President of Yili Group, member of IDF Standing Committee on Dairy Science and Technology, member of the Technological Committee of Chinese Dairy Industry Association,
He is also standing member of the council of the Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology. He received his PhD from Osaka University and has rich experience in food and dairy R&D.

The 14th Global Dairy Congress will be hosted at Groupe Lactalis, 66 Rue Adolphe Beck, 53000 Laval, France.
Situated in the renowned Loire region, Laval is home to the world’s largest dairy group Lactalis, which was founded in 1933. One of France’s designated “towns of art and history”, Laval enjoys a significant architectural heritage, including its castle, city walls, medieval houses, bridges and churches.
Laval is most easily accessed by high speed train from Paris. There are frequent trains from Gare Montparnasse (Paris) and daily trains from Charles de Gaulle Airport (Paris). Seats should be booked in advance.
