InnoBev Awards 2024
Zenith Global's annual InnoBev Awards celebrate excellence and innovation across all sectors of the global soft drinks industry. Open to entrepreneurs and established brands worldwide, entries are invited in 18 categories, covering product, marketing, technology and packaging innovation. The awards will open be open for entries from January 2024 until 5 April 2024. The winners will be announced on 15 May in an awards ceremony online and at the UK Soft Drinks Conference 2024 in London.

Early bird entry (ends 16 February): £195 per category (+ VAT if applicable)
Standard entry: £225 per category (+ VAT if applicable)
If you enter 3 categories, the 4th entry is free.
All entries must be received by the extended deadline of close of business on Friday 5 April 2024.
ENTRY PROCESS
There are two stages to the entry process.
1. Simply click 'Enter Now', and select the categories and products you wish to enter and then fill out your personal details.
2. Once we have received your application and payment, a member of the awards team will be in touch to support you on your submission for the awards.

FINALISTS ANNOUNCEMENT
Once all judges have submitted their feedback and scores, all points will be counted and verified.
A press release will be released announcing the finalists. All entrants and finalists will be notified by the end of April.
WINNERS ANNOUNCEMENT
The winners will be announced in an awards ceremony on Wednesday 15 May 2024 during Zenith Global's UK Soft Drinks Conference 2024 in London.

Entry criteria
All products entered must have been launched/ created/ rebranded from January 2022 onwards.
Products that are not yet in the market can still be entered, as long as they are in their prototype/packaging stage by the closing date of the awards (22 March 2024).

For each category entry, you are required to submit the following only:
- a 200-word description of why your product deserves to win in its category
- two high-resolution product images (JPEG and PNG files only)
Text should be submitted in a word/text document and images as JPEG or PNG files. Please ensure all entry files clearly identify the category they correspond to.
For the category ‘Best Marketing or Social Media Campaign’ you are invited to send an additional 1-page document to include any video content or imagery relating to the entry.
Below are some ideas and recommendations for what you may wish to include in your 200-word description. For all categories, you may wish to consider including the following:

CATEGORIES
Best Dairy Drink
- Recognises outstanding innovations in dairy-based beverages, milk-based drinks, yoghurt drinks or other dairy infused beverages. *
Best Functional Drink
- Highlights beverages designed to offer specific health or functional benefits that go beyond basic hydration, such as added vitamins, probiotics or other functional ingredients that deliver a unique proposition to consumers. *
Best Low/No Sugar Drink
- Celebrates beverages that excel in reducing sugar content or providing a sugar-free alternative.*
Best Low/No Alcohol Drink (no more than 0.5% ABV)
- Acknowledges the best non-alcoholic or low-alcohol beverages (no more than 0.5% ABV) which are positioned as a favourable alternative to alcoholic beverages and deliver a unique proposition to consumers. *
Best Plant-based Drink
- Recognises excellence in plant-based beverages, including those made from ingredients such as nuts, grains, seeds, or other plant sources, or those that act as a plant-based alternative to animal products. *
Best Premium Drink
- Celebrates beverages positioned as premium offerings, often characterised by high-quality ingredients and craftsmanship, unique flavour profiles, or luxury branding/packaging. *
Best Sports/Energy Drink
- Recognises beverages formulated to boost energy, hydration or performance during physical activity. This may include energy enhancing ingredients. *
Best Wellness Drink
- Focuses on beverages promoting overall wellness, through immune support, stress relied, relaxation or other health-centric benefits. *
*You may wish to highlight flavour combinations, points of differentiation, added value, market impact, packaging design and brand appeal to target audience.
Best in Can, Carton, Glass and PET
- Recognises excellence and innovation in packaging design within respective material categories, considering innovation, sustainability and consumer appeal. You may wish to highlight how your product differentiates itself from other products in the same format, as well as the benefits of choosing to package your product in this format. We are looking for innovation of concept, as well as commercial/market impact.
Best Packaging/Label Design
- Acknowledges outstanding creativity and effectiveness in beverage packaging and label design, that measurably improve consumer convenience, usability, reduction of waste material and showcase innovative brand design. You may wish to include how the packaging has been utilised, it’s brand appeal relevant to the target audience and how it stands out from competitors in the same categories. The packaging/label design needs to effectively communicate the ingredients and benefits of what is inside.
Best Marketing/Social Media Campaign
- Recognises the most impactful and innovative marketing campaigns, activations, promotions, print, digital, or point-of-sale campaigns that entertain, raise awareness or educate, demonstrate originality and promote the brand or specific products. You are welcome to send a one-page document of additional video content and imagery to help illustrate your marketing message.
Best Technology Innovation
- Honors innovative technological advancements in the production, formulation, or delivery of beverages. This includes innovations that offer new technologies that save time or money in beverage manufacturing, change the way in which consumers access and consume beverages, improve packaging line efficiency and safety, improve tracking through smart technology, or improve environmental sustainability criteria.
Best New Brand
- Celebrates the most promising new beverage brand that has made a significant impact in a short time period, that clearly communicate benefits – from nutrition, health, functionality, or superior refreshment - and have delivered a unique proposition either through innovative ingredients or packaging, environmental sustainability, clean label, or ethical behaviour.
Best Brand Extension
- Acknowledges successful brand extensions or line expansions that clearly communicate benefits – from nutrition, health, functionality, or superior refreshment - and have delivered a unique proposition either through innovative ingredients or packaging, environmental sustainability, clean label, or ethical behaviour.
Best New Drink Concept
- Recognises innovative and forward-thinking beverage concepts and product differentiation that may challenge traditional norms or introduce entirely new drinking experiences or a new product category to extend consumer choices.

Bill Sipper
Managing Partner of Cascadia Managing Brands
Bill is a food and beverage industry leader who has guided numerous brands from concept to commercialization to category leadership. He held senior positions at leading brands including Evian, Nantucket Nectars, Fresh Samantha/Odwalla, Naked Juice..
Consulting closely with client leaders as they consider a sale or acquisition, Bill has supported several brands through the process. (Naked Juice was sold to Pepsico, Fresh Samantha/Odwalla was sold to Coca Cola, and Nantucket Nectars was sold to Ocean Spray). Bill has significant international experience, and works with clients in Asia, Europe, South America and the Middle East. He draws on this expertise to help international brands establish presence in the US and to help US brands expand internationally.
Through Cascadia, Bill has earned industry respect for helping to build brands like Liquid Death, HINT Water, Zico Coconut Water and many more.
Bill is active in philanthropic causes: He served as president of Robert Kennedy Jr.’s clean water charity, Tear of the Clouds; was an Advisory Board Member to The Walden Woods Project; and served two terms on the Board of Directors of the National Osteoporosis Foundation.
Bill has been featured on Food Network’s “Unwrapped” and in the PBS documentary “The Water Wars.” He has been a featured speaker at Columbia University School of Business, The Bottled Water Congress (Torino, Italy), the Pan Arab Congress on Osteoporosis (Tunisia), and at virtually every major US food and beverage show, including Natural Products Expo, BevNet, Nosh Live and more. His articles have appeared in leading trade publications, and he is frequently quoted in media including The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s and the New York Times.
Claire Nuttall
Managing Director of The Brand Incubator
With over 20 years experience working in high calibre, demanding agency world with many successes working with big blue chip brands, businesses and entrepreneurial start ups.
From identifying the gap and solution for GSK's now £100m brand Sensodyne Pronamel or partnering the creation of a £19m food brand year 1 Claire delivers growth. Claire writes a monthly Talking Shop for the Food & Drink industry magazine The Grocer and feeds trend insights into LS :N bi-monthly from 2014. She regularly speaks at industry seminars giving talks about innovation, NPD, future trends and the ever changing health agenda. She also co-founded the much talked of Thrive Talk Executive business club who meet bi-monthly to discuss edgy industry issues and challenges involving entrepreneurs, retailers, venture capital and big blue chip marketers and directors.
Duane Stanford
Editor and Publisher of Beverage Digest
Duane Stanford is Editor & Publisher of Beverage Digest, a U.S.-based business newsletter covering the drinks industry. He has written extensively about the global food and beverage sectors since 2006.
Duane regularly appears on radio and television and in print as an expert commentator on global beverage trends and developments.
Tim Brett
Former President of the European Soft Drinks Association
Tim Brett is the Former President of the European Soft Drinks Association and Former President of The Coca-Cola Company's Western Europe business unit.
Brett joined The Coca-Cola Company in 1997 in the marketing function in Romania. In 1999, he joined one of Coca-Cola’s largest bottlers -- Coca-Cola Hellenic – in the Czech Republic with responsibility for commercial strategy. Tim was appointed General Manager of The Coca-Cola Company in the Czech Republic in 2001. He moved to Warsaw, Poland in 2003 to lead the company’s business in Poland and the Baltic States. In 2006, he moved to Vienna and was named President of the Alpine business unit which included Austria, Switzerland and Slovenia. This business unit was later expanded to include Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia, FYROM and Montenegro.
Brett moved to Coca-Cola Japan in March 2011 as Executive Vice President with responsibility for franchise operations and commercial leadership.
Before joining The Coca-Cola Company, Brett held marketing positions in the UK for United Distillers, The Guinness Group and Walkers Snack Foods, Frito-Lay. Brett holds an M.A. degree in History from The University of St. Andrews in the United Kingdom.
Vanessa Walker
President of NEW YOU Brands
Vanessa Walker is President of NEW YOU Brands where she utilises her expertise in turnarounds and scaling brands to increase valuation. In 2018, Vanessa was named in BevNet's 31 Most Powerful Women in the Beverage Industry.
Vanessa is also Chief Strategy Officer of Great HealthWorks, and makers of joint health supplement, Omega XL. In addition, she advises several beverage brands today including 100 Coconuts and United Sodas of America, and formerly served on the board of publicly traded, Jones Soda Co.
Prior to joining client (GHW) full time, she Founded Millennial Brands Consulting, a beverage focused firm specializing in the strategy and commercialization of early stage beverages.
Recently as EVP Sales and Marketing, and Global Marketing, Product Development of CELSIUS (NASDAQ: CELH), (January 2016 - October 2018), she worked to turnaround brand’s position, building the foundation for the tremendous success and growth it has achieved for the past few years. In her role, she broadened the appeal from former calorie burning supplement by rebranding and repositioning CELSIUS creating today’s global C brand mark and tagline “Live Fit”. She and team dubbed the phrase "Performance Energy", now recognized by Nielsen and used throughout the industry to denote a highly caffeinated, fitness or pre-workout, sub-segment of the Energy Drink category. Line extensions and packaging strategies included powder, natural and increased caffeine in 16oz were designed to expand brand franchise and revenue streams.
Prior, she reimagined a new future for then regional brand, La Croix Sparkling Water (NASDAQ: FIZZ). Through her category knowledge and leadership as EVP Sales/Marketing (2008-2016), she lead the brand to become the #1 national sparkling water total US. La Croix’s success revolutionized the sparkling water category to a become a mainstream alternative to artificial diet sodas as it grew from $620+m in ’08 to over $3.5B in 2019.
Throughout her career, she drew on her former experiences as Regional Beverage / Snack buyer at Target Stores, and as store executive, to forge new futures for the consumable brands she managed. She also served as Director of Marketing for soda brand, Big Red, and the VP National Accounts for kid's beverage startup, IN ZONE Brands, (now Good to Grow), winning early on with Kid's Zone merchandising concepts in C-stores and the Mass Channel. She resides in South FL today.

The finalists for the 2023 InnoBev Awards have been published today. The winners will be announced on Tuesday 16 May in an awards ceremony during the 2023 UK Soft Drinks Conference in London.
Organised by the food and drink experts Zenith Global, the InnoBev Awards celebrate excellence and innovation across all sectors of the global soft drinks industry. In its 7th year, 144 award entries were reviewed by the eminent panel of independent judges to select this year’s finalists and winners.
