Bottled water world leaders to meet at Evian summit
The first Global Bottled Water Congress will be held at the home of the world's leading natural mineral water brand Evian in the foothills of the French Alps from 4th to 6th October.
It will be the first time that all of the top four international bottled water companies - Nestlé, Danone, Coca-Cola and PepsiCo - have agreed to speak at the same event. Groupe Danone, the world's biggest volume producer in 2003, will be hosting a tour of the company's Evian bottling plant on 4th October and the main conference will be opened by its newly appointed Executive Vice President - Beverages Worldwide Thomas Kunz on 5th October.
Under the theme 'Bottled Water : Source of Well Being', topics to be covered range from market opportunity and product innovation through to consumer trends and social issues such as safeguarding water resources. Other speakers include a series of continental representatives from South America to Asia.
The third day of 6th October will be devoted to a seminar and market briefings on the fast emerging growth sectors of flavoured and functional waters, including case studies on leading innovations such as Lipton Aquaé from Unilever and Germany's oxygenated Active 02 from Adelholzener as well as presentations on sports waters, wellness drinks and near waters in Japan.
The congress is being organised by leading bottled water consultancy Zenith International in association with the industry's only dedicated global magazine bottledwaterworld. Within easy reach of Geneva airport, the event is appropriately taking place in the prestigious Royal Parc Evian complex where the 2003 G8 Summit was held, overlooking Lake Geneva and close to Europe's best known summit Mont Blanc.
