Latest dairy innovation led by Greek yogurt and functionality
Among the many hundreds of dairy products launched around the world in the past year, a new report by global market specialists at Zenith International highlights over 100 brand innovations, aiming to provide an essential guide for companies considering new launches this year.
The first in Zenith’s 2014 Innovation series, Zenith’s Global Dairy Innovation 2014 report examines key developments in all dairy categories: milk, cheese, cream, butter, yogurt, ice cream and dairy desserts.
“The most successful innovations of 2013 were Greek yogurts, notably in the United States, but also in many other countries,” commented Zenith Market Intelligence Director Esther Renfrew. “I should also focus on increased consumer acceptance of added functionality, bold and unusual yogurt flavours, the spread of cheese into Asia and greater variety for ice cream.”
Two key added functional benefits highlighted by Zenith are weight management and memory enhancement.
