44 acquisitions in October
October was another busy month for transactions, with 44 recorded in the bevblog.net database, but only three were worth more than $500 million. These were:
- $1,200 million for Germany’s Bayer purchase of Schiff Nutrition in the United States
- $650 million for the US Church & Dwight acquisition of Avid Health
- $533 million for Saudi Arabia’s Savola stake increase in Almarai.
Among the 44, 9 were in alcohol, 7 in soft drinks, 7 in ingredients, 5 in dairy and 5 in packaging.
Involving 28 countries overall, the United States was active in 19, followed by France on 7, the Netherlands on 6, Germany on 5 and the United Kingdom on 5.
