Cola flavoured wine

Continuing my summer silliness theme, I wonder about the prospects for this innovation in France, of all places.

It’s a 9% ABV red wine made with added water, sugar and cola flavouring. It is called Rouge Sucette, meaning Red Lollipop, and sells for €2.95 a bottle.

Have I lost the plot or have they ? It is said to taste like candy. Isn’t that where alcopops started to go wrong ?
