Keeping food prices down

Nestlé’s Chairman Peter Brabeck couldn’t have put it more bluntly:

“It is really unbelievable that, when we have insufficient food in our world, we give it to cars … I plead very openly, no food for fuel.”

He was speaking at the recent Global Forum for Food and Agriculture in Berlin.

He does have a point.

Current subsidies for biofuels also push food prices up.
