Extreme taste combinations seem to have become a theme for 2013. For at least 25 years, there has been a steady progression of blurring at the edges of product categories, such as with juice and milk or tea and energy.
Today, all limits are being tested and nothing is beyond the imagination. In just the past few weeks, I’ve noted:
- a yogurt with alcohol – in raspberry and amaretto, from The Collective in the United Kingdom.
- a carbonated energy wine – in alubottles, with 7% alcohol, from Bodega Copaboca in Spain.
- a coffee blackcurrant cordial – from Bottlegreen in the United Kingdom.
