Sustainable diet includes milk
Recent UK research published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition shows that a more sustainable British diet could reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 36%.
A realistic and healthy diet using 52 out of 82 food groups for an adult woman aged between 19 and 50 “can be achieved without eliminating meat or dairy products or increasing the cost to the consumer.”
This is all the more important because food production accounts for 18-20% of total UK greenhouse gas emissions.
